You can’t improve your users experience without knowing what it is today. And the only way to know that is with good analytics.
But good analytics is so much more than collecting data (which can be hard enough). We work in three main steps to get you set up.
1. Draw the map.
Figure out what it is your users can do, and what you would prefer them to do. We do this by creating a “tracking concept” that is a map over all possible actions on the site or in the product and how they should be set up as events.
2. Collect all data.
Make sure to collect all those data points mapped out in step 1in the same place. Then they can be joint together all the way from marketing source to conversion, allowing you to use the data to answer any question you have. We use Google Tag Manager, BigQuery, and Google Analytics together with existing systems to achieve this.
3. Build useful reports.
To make the data actually valuable, you need to visualize it. Data is of no use if it can't be consumed and understood by anyone that needs it. We set this up in Looker Studio using a standard set of reports and add any custom ones on request.
